The cover is a patented material that looks like a traditional book covering — but is biodegradable in compostable conditions. This means that once you have finished using your notebook, and if you don't want to keep your notes, you can pull the paper out and recycle it in your everyday office or household recycling.
The book cover can then go into your compostable waste and will biodegrade. It works by attracting microbes that break down the bonds in the material.
Cesca's BioD notebooks are crafted in the UK to lessen the carbon footprint. We minimise waste by using all of the material — even the scraps to make other small products. We use traditional bookbinding techniques to produce quality books.

If you care about the environment and want a high quality a4 notebook we have the perfect solution. Our BioD A4 Notebook is made from a biodegradable outer material. The inner paper if cream lined from a managed source and when you finish your notebook no need to send it to landfill. Tear out the inner paper block this can be added to your household paper recycling. The cover can then be placed in compostable waste and will biodegrade ion around three to four months. The card in the cover slows the process slightly but in compostable conditions the BioD material is proven to biodegrade in 180 days. This a4 notebook ideal for your desk, the paper is sewn bound so it lies entirely flat, this makes it easy to write on both sides of the page, there is a handy ribbon page marker to keep your place. At Cesca all of our notebooks are made in the UK, this reduces the airmiles of the product but also helps to sustain skills and jobs in the UK. We aim to preserve traditional skills for generations to come as well as safeguarding the environment and there is no need for this notebook to add to landfill once you have finished using it. This quality book jacket is made from BioD with a light texture it gives your notebook a quality cover but is multi use. The BioD notebook jacket contains a white lined book made from 80 gsm paper that is 100 % recycled. The book is sewn bound for a perfect lie flat finish and has radius corners and consists of 96 pages 192 sides. The book can be recycled in normal paper recycling , a new recycled book can be inserted into the multi use jacket. If a point comes when the jacket is surplus to your requirements, you can place it in your compostable waste, it will biodegrade within 180 days.
